Blue Lace and Scuba Crop Top *McCalls 7540*

Hey lovely friends. I got to take pictures of this project I made a few weeks ago for a special night out. This s my first major lace project and I LOVE it! I was watching Project Runway yesterday and saw how different designers’ creative processes worked and thought to share how this outfit happened.

First the special occasion I made this outfit for was a Cameroonian cultural event and in my culture, lace is a very luxurious fabric so I knew I wanted to make something with lace. Then I found a pattern that would do a lace outfit justice without being dowdy, but more edgy. M7540 was it. I found and bought some stretch lace fabric in this gorgeous blue and used some scuba fabric I had in my stash for the top. I lined the skirt with a blue swim knit fabric which helped pull everything in nicely. I tweaked the design a bit so I was comfortable in it and my outfit was born.

Bling trim is a simple way to add some glitz to any project. I added a bit to this top it matched nicely with the silver shimmer parts of that scuba knit fabric.

I hope you enjoyed my process and my make today. Let me know what your process for creating is, or what you thought of mine.

Until next time, Love ♥ Peace an Kisses.
